A relentless detective is on their case and is convinced that they are to blame for all the murders. George and Edna must fight for there innocence and their lives.
One of the best zombie flicks on the market which is shot and directed very well for it's day. An interesting twist on the Zombie genre which also tackles sensitive environmental issues. The UK DVD has been crisply re mastered by Anchorbay although there is a US DVD under the working title "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie". Apparently, according to the BBFC website, the UK DVD version is cut but I can't tell the difference between the two. Any info on this would be appreciated.

This eventually gets her in trouble and a lot of people cark-it as a direct effect. This film is totally mental and builds up to an exellent climax. Not a real gory zombie flick but still a great movie. I especially liked the music score.

Guess Who`s coming to dinner? Blood thirsty ghouls bent on cannibalism!

A group of hippies are camped on a mountain protecting there crops of ganja which they are harvesting and generally getting high. The Army wanted to test a new insect repellent which was not tested for safety so the blagged this old piss-head pilot to dump it on the ground with his crop sprayer plane. The pilot got the wrong field and sprayed it on the gang, which had an adverse side effect causing the hippies to turn into flesh eating "Toxic Zombies!".

This film was one of the 72 that got banned in 1982 in the U. K. and you still cannot get hold of it from here to this date. It`s hard to tell why it was banned (unless I have bought the complete wank copy), because it is not that violent, apparently it could be something to do with the ganja element as some people believe that the crop spraying of the ganja fields by the American Police was a direct cause of this film. It is not particularly gory but does have a few violent bits with some blood. Overall, it is your usual zombie flick but with a twist...
- a ganja twist!

The movie kicks in with a bloody and brutal slaying of a young couple and the local pervert. 2 cops come to investigate the crime scene, Amaldi and Nicola. What seemed like a revenge killing turned into a twisted case of murder of a bloody and macabre nature. Augusto , another cop, is taken to hospital and diagnosed with a brain tumor. He starts to have visions from an old orphanage that burned down years ago. Could this have something to do with the case?
The killer is on the rampage and the death toll increases. An antique dealer is the next victim of his affections. The police find the body, in a pose, like a doll. The arms have been removed and replaced by dolls arms. The next is a doctor, and her legs have gone? Next a cop, the head!! Will it ever stop?
As we delve into the psychology of the killer with 4 fingers we can see that is not any old random killing spree but a well orchestrated slaying. He goes after Amaldi's lover and the cat and mouse game realy starts to heat up, and as usual, in any good "whodunit?", the killers identity is kept secret to the end.
Riveting and on the edge of the seat, classy, stylish and slick entertainment, with an original music score, "Eyes of Crystal" is one of the best Gialo's to hit our screens for years. So if your into the genre, bag yourself a copy as it makes "Seven" seem like a lucky number. This is one of the first Fright Fest DVD releases and if they keep this up I will look forward to seeing many more too. Top marks folks!

This has to be one of the best slasher / gialo's about and one of the better films in the U. K. banned nastie list. Its very gory in places and the effects for its time are quite convincing but the plot is a bit of a drag. In a spanish village, on a warm summer evening, the people are celebrating the big yearly fiesta, the Festival of the moon. Miguel, the nephew of a rich condesa, joins the party.

In accordance with old tradition, all men must wear masks to the party. Rita, a young tourist, believes that her passionate admirer is her boyfriend Rolf. She is a bit surprised when she finds out the mask is concealing Miguel who's face is not only unattractive but badly disfigured by a huge burn. She gives him what for so he becomes ragefull and attacks her and injures her severely. For this attack he is put into a mental institution.

Miguel remains in the nuthouse for two years until the psychiatrist Domingo lets him go home on a trial basis. In the village, numerous girls have come to learn Spanish, but soon after his return one of the girls is murdered under suspicious circumstances. The murder rings alarm bells for everyone and no-one dares to go out after nightfall. Because of past events the police and the village blame Miguel for this disturbing act. The monster strikes again slaughtering the students...

Who committed theses blood thirsty crimes? The police are baffled. So are the villagers. Everyone is in a panic and nobody knows the answer. Blood guts and mayhem!! My favorite part is the decapitation sceene.... total fakey but none the less bloody funny! The original UK release of this film was printed on vhs by Interlite. You can get a version from Vipco but it is very cut so avoid. The best version on dvd is an import by European shock and they have done a great job in the transfer even if it is a bit dark in places.

Lamberto Bava piles on the terror in his viscerally shocking "A Blade In The Dark". Set in a villa, a young composer sets out to write a score to a horror film. Sandra, the director to the picture he is writting the score for (played by Anny Papa), refuses to let even Bruno see the final real for mysterious purposes. Women start visiting at the villa and just as suddenly, start disappearing for reasons that seem only related to the movie that Bruno is scoring. The film builds up to an intense climax and, as usual in any good Gialo, the identity of the killer is kept secret right to the end of the film.
This version of the film, which has been released by VIPCO in the u.k., is fully uncut and contains the notorious "Bathroom Scene" in its entirety just a shame about the transfer. An excellent film of the Gialo ( who done it ? ) genre and not to missed.

Written and directed by Renato Polseli (under the psyudonym of Ralph Brown) and not to be confused with the U.K. banned video Nasty by the same title, the Anchorbay DVD release of this great movie contains both the U.S.A. release and the Internation release of the film. The International version is totaly uncut but it is a shame it does not have an optional English sound track. Overall, a well present DVD and a very clean remaster.

The only thing more terrifying than the last 12 minutes of this film are the first 92.

Jessica Harper stars as Suzy Banyon, a young American ballet dancer who arrives at a prestigious European dance academy run by the mysterious Madame Blane and Miss Tanner. But when a series of bizarre incidents and horrific crimes turn the academy into a horrific nightmare Suzy must face the schools supernatural evil and escape!

The quality of this film is phenomenal from start to finish. It is shot with absolute excellence and tied together with an amazing sound track that builds up and down with the suspense of the story in timed perfection. The film footage has now been fully restored under the supervision of Dario Argento and cinematographer Luciano Tovoli and the soundtrack fully re mastered by Goblin bringing the film back to its original quality and if not better!

Some of the gore scenes are very horrific with a lot of thought put into them for instance the scene near the start of the film when the young girl gets it in the dormitory. The killing was so well excicuted it makes most horror film killings look like a walk in the park.

Some people may find Dario`s films a bit arty-farty but in this case the set pieces and the lighting give the film a unique majestical feel adding to the appeal of the film. Over all it is a must have for any serious collector or just if you just like a good horror flick. Remember to crank up your 5.1 sound kit!

Suspiria was made in 1977 and is the most famous and widely seen horror film ever made. Argento`s classic has served as the gateway for many fan`s interest in European horror cinema and no matter how many times one has seen this film it still holds the power to astonish, thrill and mesmerize all these years later.

Anchor bay has now released the fully uncut version on double disc dvd and the discs are packed with goodies. Also the have included a small booklet about the history of Suspiria and other Dario flicks, an interview with Jessica Harper and to my surprise a small bundle of lobby cards which makes this dvd the definitive collectors edition. It is avaliable through most leading stockists I believe MVC are the cheapest on the high street. Happy viewing!

Dario Argento presents this incredibly well orchestrated, inventive, suspense thriller about Peter Neil, an American mystery novelist who comes to rome to promote his latest release "Tenebrae". Soon after his arrival, a bizarre sequence of shocking homicides occur which strangely resemble the murders in his book, and he himself becomes the subject of horrifying death threats. Although the police are baffled, Neil decides to take charge of the investigation and with the help of a special agent, (played by John Saxon) and his staff, makes a shot at solving the case. A great movie of this genre and a must see. Check out the Anchorbay U.K. uncut and fully remastered DVD which contains the bloody arm chop scene which really makes for a good gore blast. Director Michele Soavi does the impossible by squeezing a few more drops of blood out from the slasher genre. Not only that, Soavi lensed one of the most beautiful and suspenseful horror flicks of the 80`s. A haunting horror set in a theatre, where the cast are rehearsing their new production. An escaped loony stows away on set and, dressed as an owl, knocks off the cast one by one using a chainsaw. Even though this film is a bit arty-farty and the music a bit loopy its not that bad and some of the gore scenes are quite convincing. The DVD has been re-released by the Video Instant Picture Company (VIPCO) and is in its fully uncut entirety. Welcome to the theatre of death. (Not as good as Opera by Dario Argento)

This has got to be one of the greatest werewolf films of our time! Two American backpackers walking across the moors in Yorkshire find their way to a pub called "The Slaughtered Lamb". To their dismay they realize that they are not welcome and are asked to leave. The pub owner argues their case for them but could not stop the locals from booting them out into the dark cold night. One of the locals warns them to "Stay on the road, don't go near the moors". They leave the pub a bit miffed and guess what happens, yes that`s right, they wander onto the moors. After ambling along for a while they realize that they are not alone. They can hear a wild animal circling them in the dark. It moves in for the kill and rips one of them to pieces. The other manages to survive with only one war wound but the nightmare has only just begun.
Stunning special effects (by Richard Baker) and an excellent story line (directed by John Landis) make this one of the best werewolf films ever. Good direction mixed with atmosphere and a great cast and music make this a surefire hit and not to be missed. Check out the remastered special edition on DVD.

Problem is, the Demon doesnt want to stop until it has killed everybody and there doesn't seem to be anyway to stop it.
A great movie with great special effects especially the demon "Pumpkinhead". Starring cult movie star Lance Henriksen ( Bishop from "Alien" ) it is a well delivered story with good direction. The Tartan UK DVD is very well remastered and should have a place in anyone's collection.

The movie opens with a group of Irish farmers in a field. They are trying to move a large pillar from the field. What they don't know is that pillar is a seal keeping a terrible demon underground, and if its unleashed, then all hell will break loose.

Once again the Demon's terror is unleashed !

Howard Hallenbeck brings his family to the country to write a book about preservation of cultures. He photographs the local Church and finds out about Rawhead Rex and his Kingdom of fear through the Church's maniac vicar Declan O'Brien and the pictures depicted in the church's stain glass window. The deranged vicar is suddenly turned into a follower of Rawhead Rex when the seal was broken and goes on a complete mad one.

The movie then follows Howard hunting down the monster in order to avenge his son's death, of course there is a lot of killing and destroying as Rawhead walks on earth again.

The movie is very cheaply made and was adapted from Clive Barker's Books of Blood (He later directed Hellraiser after seeing what a let down Rawhead Rex was.).

The actors considering the budget play their rolls well, especially David Dukes(Howard Hallenbeck) and Ronan Wilmot(Declan O'Brien). Rawhead Rex special fx's and monster suit was very well done, cheap, but well done. The glowing red-eyes and his large mouth full of teeth made him look meaner, if it wasn't for that it would look like a muscled walking gorilla. All in all it’s a movie worth to watch for the nice camera angles ( Rawhead walking with a head in his hand or when he's mauling a body hanging from a tree ), nice monster and gore. If you like cheap cult monster movies, this is a must watch!

FOUR PUPILS LEAVE SCHOOL AFTER THE FINALS AND CREATE A VIOLENT STREET GANG. THE FILM IS BASED ON THEIR LIFE JOURNEY AND WHAT THEY GET UP TO AFTER THE SCHOOL TIME HAS PASSED. WITH MANY EMOTIONAL TWISTS AND TURNS AND A GREAT DIALOGUE, THE CHARACTERS ARE PLAYED IN A WELL CRAFTED WAY MAKING THIS AN EXCEPTIONAL RIDE THROUGHOUT.

NOT VERY OFTEN DO YOU SEE A GREAT MOVIE WITH A GREAT STORY LINE AND, AS USUAL , TAKASHI MIIKE KICKS STRAIGHT IN WITH SOME HEAVY VIOLENT ACTION BUT UNLIKE MOST OF HIS OTHER FLICKS SLOWS DOWN TO A MORE RELAXING PACE AND BUILDS A LOT MORE CHARACTER AND MEANING TO THE FILM. NOT AS VIOLENT AS MOST OF TAKASHI’S WORK BUT DEFINATLEY JUST AS UNAUTHORDOX. THIS IS WHAT MAKES HIS FILMS SO APPEALING. A STUNNING PIECE OF CINEMA AND NOT TO BE MISSED.

YET ANOTHER GREAT RELEASE BY ARTSMAGIC ON TO DVD AND AS USUAL THEY HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB WITH THE TRANSFER. THANKS ARTSMAGIC!!!
